Is Your Market Saturated?
There’s an ongoing conversation in the online business space about oversaturated markets. Many believe that it is harder to increase their visibility and attract their ideal clients because there are so many people in the same industry doing what they aspire to do. This blog post will explain the #1 reason your market is saturated and how to overcome the hurdle.
When I log onto social media, I never want to read the same posts or watch the same videos. I never want to go to two different stores and buy the exact same product. I like to shop based on my connection with the business and their customer service. I’m sure you can agree?
Chipotle Is The Best Restaurant On The Planet
You may disagree with me but I believe it is the best fast-casual restaurant on the planet. No matter which Chipotle I visit, I’ve never had a bad experience. As a vegetarian, it can be difficult to find restaurants that are quick, cheap, and filling. The sofritas bowl with a side of queso & chips are a staple in my weekly meal plan. Chipotle created a business that is convenient, budget-friendly, and fulfilling for their customers no matter if they are vegan, vegetarian, or a meat lover.
Can you name another business EXACTLY like Chipotle? Probably not.
Can you name another fast-casual restaurant? Of course.
Think about your favorite restaurant, grocery story, or gas station. Why do you prefer them instead of other places that sell the same type of product? Is it the price, the customer service, or convenience?
Every business owner wants their customers to think of them first when searching for the solution to their problem. When we focus too much attention on what other businesses are producing our customers suffer and we eventually ignore what their needs by trying to keep up with our industry.
Let’s look at your business.
Have you ever said, “My industry is saturated and it is difficult for my business to stand out?” If you look at your industry it may seem that everyone is building businesses that look identical and that’s because the most important ingredient is missing from your business blueprint.
YOU.
To trailblaze your own path, you must put your gifts, talents, & skills on the front line. CLICK TO TWEET
The fast casual restaurant market has thousands of restaurants opening daily. Chipotle has found it’s sweet spot by puting a spin to our favorite food.
God created only one version of you and me.
My gifts and skills makes me the only person who can help my assigned people solve a specific problem. There may be a million branding & marketing coaches who love talking about business, marketing & branding, but people work with me because I am Morgan and I have a unique personality and way of doing things that they can not find any place else.
This also applies to you.
No matter the industry you are in, your assignment is to help people solve that one problem that ONLY you can help them identify and correct. CLICK TO TWEET
The world does not need any more life coaches, speakers, personal trainers, hair stylists, makeup artists. The world needs to be introduced to YOU, who you are, what you believe in, what you have been through, and how you can help others navigate a similar path.
People buy from people they like, know and trust.
If you are simply following the “rules” of your industry and doing the same thing everyone else is doing, you will easily be overlooked by your potential clients. Saturation in any market comes from too many people not knowing who they are and too many people wanting to be like someone else.
